Купили мы тут пару лезвий JS23 на Power6.

Такая штука интересная.

Звучит все неплохо. Но вот сдается мне что по шине в этом сервере проблемы будут. Но как говориться – будем посмотреть.

 

Пока только операционку поставили. Путем экспериментов выяснили, что миниамально подходит – AIX 5.3 TL 10. В предыдущих не работает cd-rom (он там usb). 

Огорчило отсутвие поддержки HMC. Хотя, как мне кажется, пилить его вообще бессмыслено. Место занимет мало, стоит дешево. Производительность под вопросом.

Пока хотим из двух таких лезвий сделать кластер для СУБД Oracle.
